Working ‘en plein air offers a unique opportunity to connect with the landscape
in a direct and meaningful way.
Painting nature and value not only enhances observational skills but also enriches the creative process. The shifting light, changing weather conditions, (bugs), and varied seasons all play a role in shaping the outcome. This practice fosters a deeper appreciation for the subtleties of the environment, encouraging me to work quickly and translate them into my study. Some days a return visit is needed to finish. I try to get out as much as possible, weather dependent.
